heres mine. found it in a hedge near my parents house in stoke, stripped it down, ordered some wheels from goldtec, spent a few quid in brixton cycles, and haven't looked back since (except to do lifesavers on the streets of gold...)

you stole a bike....shame on you:(

oh no no no no. I fooouuund it... It was right next to the local rubbish dump, and looked like someone had missed closing time and just chucked it. Everything was seized except the headset. It even had a beautiful set of vintage cranks but in my quest to see what would & wouldn't work they were 'lost' in the cleansing process. hard stigma to shake, the whole 'thief' tag...

Hi there! Gonna kill two birds with one stone here.
Been browsing the forum for a while now, I work with Brett. Currently trying to raise funds to complete the build of my fixie, hopefully it won't be too long!! Pics will follow once built, but basically it's a NYCBikes frame currently awaiting a spray job (see previous sentence!).
Anyway, here's one of my current bikes, I'm riding this on the Etape Anglais next week.
It's an early 90's Olmo running 10 speed Centaur with a 50/36 compact chainset. The paintjob is a pearlescent (flam?) Magenta, or pink as my mates call it. A few dinks here and there but I love it.
I also ride a hacked up old Carrera MTB and a Brompton but you don't want to see those.....
Anyway, hi everyone, hope to complete my build and see some of you soon (Brett excluded).

edmundane no that wasn't me gazumping you on the open pro's i bought a single rear rim from sjs or someone like that already have blue open pros on the cannondale racer so an using the ffront one on the polo bike just switch it over when neccessary

• #340
I'm practicing brakeless, but I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with you lot that evening if I didn't have a brake! Still a bit slow brakeless at the mo...
Finally created a flickr account, prob just leave it for bikes and drunken photos. Photos of the night. dexterflexter if you want high res of any of the pics just email me.

julian, looking at that bid in my ebay it's a guy called liam healy who outbid me, i do believe it's not you unless you got 3 names. really wish i have a pair. why do they stop making them!!!
did u have them with your DA hubs on your cannondale? i was asking you about your hubs 2 weeks ago at bike polo i would have spotted the rims before the hubs... -
• #342
the blue anodised rim i bought about 1mth ago currently having it built up i think sjs cycles ( let me get the exact name where i bought them they did have a stack left i think ) i've got black open pro's with da on the white cannondale blue anodised open pro, old shimano 105 hubs on my 12 speed cannondale front will go onto the polo bike and rear being built will be the rear wheel just economising if i can switch wheels between bikes it will make it cheaper in the long run and allow for more bikes

• #347
here is a pic of my new bike, a setavento - just built it up. I know it has too many brakes, I was planning to build it up as a ss is my excuse
-
• #348
If you're fixed I'd take that rear brake off.
That's a gorgeous bike that, must have set you back a pretty penny. All titanium? Chris King too, plus Reynolds forks, Ritchey seat post... aah, one London Dynamo bottle ;) You can spot us by the fact that we spent insane amounts on insane bikes :)
You doing the Etape this Sunday too? If so you can nurse me to the line. My training went to hell this last week... ooops!

Thanks David. Is there a reason (other than it being uncool) not to have the back brake? I like to hold the hoods when climbing.
The frame is a 'cheap' custom titanium one from China, I had some of the components in my shed, but then went a bit mad on eBay & hubjub.
I've got a place for the etape on Sunday, but am racing on Sat (well, TTT) and I am not sure that I can cope with getting to Greenwich for 5:15 or whatever from SW london. It's hardly worth going to bed...

Piers Is there a reason (other than it being uncool) not to have the back brake? I like to hold the hoods when climbing.
Unless you have a rack and load up your bike or are on really long rides (like the guy on here who dose thing like PBP and LEL 1200km adax rides) fixed where it is nice to have the extra brake for long down hills there is no need as it is fixed, but if you like having a (effectivly 2nd) rear brake keep it, it an't going to do any harm.
Not bad, but you have been jipped on that real wheel, it way too small
