morgan Just stoppin in to say hi. I'm morgan, also from Chicago and the Chicago Fixed Gear Forum, just like Ms. Ulty. Drink a few for us tonight. We will do the same. Cheers londonfgss!
Oh we will. Especially if ms. ulty bought along that bottle of Malort.
Is chifg really imploding? A real shame if true.
-
• #55
Yeah Chifg is kinda imploding. It like we are walking on eggshells with crutches on that forum. However i feel that it will turn around eventually. I look to the London Forum for inspiration, you guys are like a cold beer on a hot day, thank you!
Ahh yum the medicine Malort! I dont think she got any but i could be totally mistaken. We might just have to ship you guys a few bottles.

whats happened are they all stealing each others bikes , shagging each others laydeezz or what tell me more or let us find out in about 6 mths when ours goes the same way !
-
• #57
no its more like HUGE flame wars, senior members hating on the newbies and the newbies hating on the seniors. Thread after thread about nothing at all, there could be days with out anything bike related said on the forum it seems. We got to big for our britches. *edit~ knickers!

Naz hasn't helped unfortunately. It should've just been trodden on.
#1 Rule of making a forum work... keep it welcoming and inclusive always.
Which means stomping on oldies who should know better, and booting people who start flamewars for at least a few weeks so that they learn their lesson.
And yes, when it happens, that's what I will do on this forum. The only way to keep these places cool is to keep them friendly and non-cliquey as much as is possible.

We might just have to accept.
Feel free to make this place a surrogate home in the meantime. Just don't be talking football near me or anything daft like that ;)
Oh, and we'll take care of ms. ulty for you. Though I'm fairly sure she's probably soaked to the bone somewhere at the moment.
-
• #61
i dont really think theres much risk of that,we all get on quite well i think considering that alot of us still have'nt met yet...i dont see any egowars starting
-
• #62
Nah, not yet. But we all stopped a while ago and asked how long we'd all been riding, and the answer universally was "a long time".
Just you wait until it gets all hipster around these parts and we start having people sign up who haven't ridden anything since the age of seven and want in on this "fixie thang". Then we'll see how patient and tolerant we all are ;)
-
• #63
Prob wont get there till 7, Pat just texted me to say he's got a flat and needs me to bring tools to soho to fix it. He reckons he'll make it but not til late as he doesn't finish work till 10.

• #72
A fun night. And we didn't even getthat drunk, which is a shame really, but at least we were able to show ms. ulty a good time anyway (that's what it was right?).
Really loved the ride home. I've never managed to skid a front wheel whilst cornering before, let alone recovered. I think I left a stain in my shorts around South Kensington.

Yeah, it was great to meet you all and shoot the breeze. Can't wait till Saturday to hook up again and rule the bridges.
David, whisper me the FTP details and I'll try to sort out the Cornelius album.

slamm yeah, that was a good night,
Top ride home, highlight was probably going the wrong way round Piccadilly Circus (nice one dt!) and some guy shouting out his window "What are you, from another country or sumfink!?"Shit, I forgot you guys did that!
Almost as good as my nearly sliding under a bus on the way to Hyde Park Corner.
All just to discover... no bats out to play.
