  • this fixed gear racing won't last - it's just a flesh in the pan

  • Heading down about 5:30

  • can't be arsed to go.
hope you guys have a good one!

  • if im not wrong the creative team won the race...im not sure!!

  • ha! you need a front brake in the wet then! :0

  • creative won the race. bill had a good beard. it rained.

  • two out of three ain't bad eh..

  • a few pics from me (couldn't get in a good enough position for any racing pics!)

  • That was lots of fun. The folding bike race was hilarious! Well done to everyone doing it in the pissing rain....

Whose was this btw? It was very nice...

CamPhone pix from start of 'pro race':

    Getting ready...

    Called forward...

    And they're off...

  • Hovis Brown creative won the race. bill had a good beard. it rained.
    It really rained. Hardcore rain.

  • that was a great day out, good to meet some of you down there. i had a go on the course at the end of the night, and still can't believe how fast the crit racers were doing those corners.

  • did i meet you gav??

  • rakan That was lots of fun. The folding bike race was hilarious! Well done to everyone doing it in the pissing rain....

Messenger named Nick. I've just recently made his acquaintance, nice guy a bit quiet though.

  • yeah i think so, i was hanging out with rakan and zoe.

  • You'll find a couple of videos of the commuter race at the link below... Tried to film the courier race but it was bucketing with rain and there was nothing to see. Slamm, I believe No. 5 (above) is my brother :)

  • weather looked 'variable' so i decided not to go, even though i had spent £2599 on a rapha hospitality package

  • The Courier race was lame, it would be better if in future they just had a pure race like all the other categories. Point to point picks and drops work really well in Alley Cats and 'live' street racing but made a boring spectacle at the Nocturne.
I would like to see who was the fastest individual Messenger in London full-stop.
The Couriers got played by the organisers.

  • it rained real hard and that level was sweet

  • Agreed....I was in the courier race...the cheers on the first lap were great, but after that...enthusiasm waned....strangely the rain saved us, coz it made us look totally heroic.....in an event like that a team relay, would more easily be understood I reckon.

  • if it had rained while the pro race was on, then would have stopped it...
and who was the guy who finished wearing just his pants?????
    fair play

  • I turned up about 7 with a mate and then had to spend the whole evening explaining why anyone would choose to ride fixed. Good night though. The courier race was a bit strange as no one had a clue what was going on including the commentators. The rain was spectacular. The folding race was funny. The propper race was quick. Really took a bit of commitment to take the corners as quickly as they were in the damp conditions. Ace.

How come, with the minimal road closures and a bit of volunteer help, this sort of thing doesnt happen more often?

Hopefull Red Ken can bung some of the cash he's saved buying oil direct from Chavez towards cycle racing in the capital. But then maybe not as that would be competitive sport.

    Great night. Roll the tour.

  • What a jolly event!
Thrills, spills and speed...that was just my consumption!
More of this type of thing...but a bit less commentary next time - Rob Elms kept waking my baby up with his history of Smithfield rant
Who was it sponsored by again...i missed that bit
Respeck from a newbie on the forum to the man in pants - good work!

  • flesh-coloured pants they were too!

was the boss himself....and Scott in the bibs....I have all their contact details, know the colour of their bikes and where they work if you guys wanna go down that road again..............

  • [You mean this muppet ?
