kowalski - well, my measurements on the hub tell me that the chainline is going to be too big by about 2-4mm, depending on the cog. I was going to go for a reasonably thin cog but apparently with 1/8 chain it can get into the way with the spokes in the flange, so I'll have to see. I might even just go for 3/32 chain.
The chainring on my bontrager track cranks is on the inside of the spider, giving me a 41mm chainline. I'm planning on just buying a new chainring and bolting it on the outside of the spider, where there is this ridiculous bash guard. Hey presto! Perfect chainline (with a spacer or 5 maybe).
Yea I was looking online last night at coloured nips... probably won't bother because they're aluminium.
Why did you want plain gauge over double butted out of interest?
