With any enamel, building up coats is better than glooping on one thick coat. it will ensure the surface is more even and tougher. as for lilac...if you're good at mixing colours, just get two tubes of the automotive enamel and mix it yoursel in a different dish. not sure if anyone does enamels to order (via pantone or otherwise).
