Is it not possible to overtighten a crank bolt?
All bolts have a torque rating, and if you exceed that surely the bolt weakens.
When I were a lad, I were told that you didn't need to tighten a square taper crank that much since the taper did most of the work if it was a good fit.
Really don't want to damage me NJS stamped loveliness... ;-)
