Hello,
Since it's clear to me that you know more about this subject than myself, I reach out for advice: Are any of you familiar with Soma or IRO? Opinions? Thanks in advance.
-
• #91
errrrr a couple of days ago you were slating alot of the members because they expressed there opinion.....and now you want it,i would warn you that it maybe an opinion that was influence by whats cool on the street rather then whats practical
-
• #92
Yeah. Go and pump up that muscle tone.
-
• #93
What's really cool, is to leave your bike frame unshaved.
Shaved frames might be easier to polish, cleaner in a crash, and more aerodynamic, but there's nothing more satisfying than hearing the roadies crack as my hirsute tubes disappear up the hill ahead of them.

• #94
lpg Yeah. Go and pump up that muscle tone.

-
• #97
Are you getting that shipped from the US?
-

Used to own a Soma Rush a while back. Handled everything I threw at it. Can't say anything bad about it but it didn't really inspire me as a ride (but I didn't have the greatest components at the time which probably had something to do with it).
They're decent, tig welded, Reynolds air-hardened steel (forget actually tubset), lightish, made in Taiwan frames with a low key steez. I'd suggest heading to Mosquitto and checking one out if you're interested.
May also be worth looking at a Bare Knuckle (360 quid), but you can get a really decent second hand ride for that.

Err.. yeah, I've got a Rush. Almost unused, waiting for 3/32 cog. Echo what fixedpip says pretty much.
It feels a damn site faster than the old Raleigh. Reminds me of my alu road bike back in Oz - this is a good thing, btw. -

Oh please, can we stop talking about Somas and get back to the bitching!
Totally. Langsters only really get a bad press because you didn't build it yourself ;) But any elite cyclist will still side with you eventually as we are all cyclists.
