Hey folks,
Nice place you got here!
I'm Joe, livin' in Brixton, replaced my stolen tatty old fakenger bike with a posh MTB about 7 years ago, big mistake, finally sold it last week...
Currently building a SS out of an IRO frame and ridin' around Brixton on my trashed BMX...
Tried a friend's fixie in the US a few years ago, wasn't for me tho'... Knees f*cked, bottle gone...
Big fan of all things Japanese, would love a Nagasawa/Level/3Rensho... Maybe someday... -

Hello... i'm a total fixed gear virgin, but borrowed a friends Pista about a month ago and got totally hooked. Looking into building/buying my own and ..internet..plus.. research.. led me here and i've been prowling like a sex-pest for a couple of days just reading posts and checking out the incredible bikes.
I dropped the fella over at fixedgearlondon an email to see if he can help me put on together... but am considering trying to build my own too after reading some threads on these forums (know my way rougly around a bike, but was more of a bmx fella to be honest)
anyway.. it's nice to be here.

Hey there, i'm currently midway through my first fixed build and a bit of internet time wasting (well i am at work) led me here.......it's an old Campag frame im converting and all being well will be on the road in about a month. I've delugged the frame, welded up the rear brake mounting hole so it's almost ready for paint when I can decide on a colour......so if any of you see me out and about (I work in Vauxhall and live in Leytonstone) kick me and say hi.
Looking forward to meeting you guys - It's good to be here..........i'm sure i'll be picking your brains soon.

Campag frame?
Dunno, i just assumed it was - It says Breva (or something) Campagnolo on the dropouts......maybe i'm wrong, im a bit new to all this?!
-
• #197
It'll be just the drop outs that are campag. The rest will probably remain a mystery.

hi bigdadad welcome
how does one de lug a frame ? i thought the lugs kind of held it together ? do you mean the bits that held the gear levers etc the braze ons ?
if the dropouts are made by brev campag then it's usually the sign of a decent frame
check out the calendar for events on in the near future -
• #199
Thanks Guys.........shame i'll never find out who made it but encouraging you think it's decent. Yes Julian i meant all the brackets and hoops and ugly fixings that hold the gear levers, cables and rear derailer in place....all the stuff i don't need so i've just smoothed it out. I really need to decide on a colour though......i'm thinking cream to match the Brooks saddle??
