    Like most race BMXs, my cruiser has only got a rear brake. I ride it on the road to get to the track and it's fine.

    Fixed gives your legs an instinctive and fine control over the rear wheel, if you hit oil you can feel it. on a freewheeler you'll only lock the wheel up regardless of how good you think the brake modulation is.

    Most of us would be able to control a sliding rear wheel a hell of a lot better than a sliding front.
