i usually avoid using cycle routes but if you live SW and need to get to the center of town:
you go over chelsea bridge and take the 2nd right down ebury bridge road and follow the cycle route at the next set of traffic routes, it takes you through quiet residential streets to lowndes square and then over a juction that crosses Knightsbridge and carriage drive through albert gate and round the perimeter cycle path in Hyde Park onto upper Brooke st and Grosvenor square
it's usually a stress free way of getting into the middle of town.
