Heh! you didn't actually go and buy that!
we were only joking about it being a good deal!
still, I suppose you could sell it on and recoup maybe 45% of what you paid..

This is my Lotus Challenger. It may not be a pretty as some of yours but it is lovely to ride. (Ignore the pedals I have since got some egg beaters)

Buy while I'm rich and sell it til I'm poor.
That is how it goes.. isn't it? -

Hi all. Just stumbled upon the site so joined up and thought I'd say hi.
I'm building a very exciting Condor 531-Competition framed fixie/ singlespeed flip flop (currently at Argos Cycles being resprayed in stealth battleship grey).
Also a matt black super-lighweight singlespeed mountain bike with hope hubs and road tyres.
Current steed (only one which actually works!) is a 1980s Peugeot racer which strictly speaking has 12 gears but I've only been using one of them for the last few months (42/16 in fact, to prepare me for when the Condor is ready). :-)
It's quite hilly down here in the South Downs but one gear is still plenty IMO.

Here's my latest. It's an Eddy Merck track bike that had been repainted and stickered up as a U. Scanini (Belgian bike co). I took the stickers off cos they looked horrible. It's got a mixture of mostly European parts on it at the moment - Goldtec/CXP33 rear wheel, Mavic Cosmic Elite front with pitlock, Campy Record Cranks and BB, TTT bars and stem, Flite + Selcof seatpost, ATAC carbon pedals.
Rides like it was made to go fast

that is sooo nice mate
-
• #217
them yellow tyres look nice like butter
& that radial front wheel looks bling
but whats with the saddle angle...? -
• #218
maybe he slides forwards without a little upward tilt..
maybe he hadn't adjusted it yet..
maybe it's comfortable like that..
maybe his seatpost is like mine and a bitch to adjust.. -
• #219
it looks like a condor seat post which doesn't have any ability to be adjusted
you don't have any choice in the matter my raleigh looks similar seat angle wrong but no adjustment available
-
• #220
I realised the same when I posted it. The saddle angle is more level than that actually - I think the angle of the photo makes it look a bit funny since the bike isn't parallel to the camera and is slightly higher as well. The seatpost is super adjustable actually, it's pretty good considering it cost a tenner or so.

ooops sorry for my presumptiousness on my bike i have a condor seatpost that is unadjustable it must have been designed with a specific frame and seat in mind mine slopes about 45 degrees ( well slight exaggeration but it's definatelty not flat ) seems comfy though and just can't justify yet another bike piece !!

Hi Simon, definitely lumpy around there I have ridden some Audaxes in that area.
What do you think of the A272 ? we have had four riders deliberatley pushed off their bikes on the A272 Midhurst section, two of them had to pack the ride from their injuries, all four incidents involved different description vehicles.

Really? That's awful! This used to be a nice area but there's a nasty element in Midhurst these days. And no police for miles around so they get away with it.
If that happens again around Midhurst then get the vehicle description to me and I'll find them myself!
To be honest I try to steer clear of the A272 with all it's speeding lorries and loony motorcyclists. There's plenty of country lanes to enjoy in relative peace. The road through Redford to Liphook is a bit of a favourite.

Hi everyone, my friend Aidan introduced me to this place (think his name is Turd Furgeson... from Will Ferrel's Saturday Night Live DVD - can you tell we're students yet?) I'm riding a single speed raleigh "Eclipse" with a Reynolds 501 frame. Here it is as it appeared in it's Ebay picture:
Has gone through numerous changes since then, will photograph it in its current configuration soon... The gears are now gone, the handlebars (and tyres) are blue with vuelta wheels, it's had a new bottom bracket fitted and the ratio has changed at least 3 times. I rode it at 42-15 for two days, and nearly died twice. I think the ratio was a little too high for the frame/wheel combination; the wheel was basically pulled into the frame when setting off (and therefore putting in some effort), chucking me over the handlebars in a comical (but painful) fashion. Now back to 42-16 with a little thingamy screwed onto the rear wheel that will hopefully stop the problem.... fingers crossed. Still i love the bike to bits, even though it's been a complete money pit.
