Moving by bike

  • So, I am moving by bike, and google maps suggested that I take this route:

Hovever, I know it would be suicide because of the hills, so I am thinking this:

Bear in mind that I will have a loaded Christiana bike, which even unloaded is not light. The elevation profile seems semi reasonable. Does anyone have any suggestions that would shave off the worst bits into kinder, gentler slopes?

And of course, if anyone is interested in a slow ride tomorrow laughing at me, I am happy to have company. I think it will take 2 trips.

  • How did it go? Well done I love thoes Christiana bikes, I don't understand why they are not more popular in Cenral London for delivaries.

  • Central London is just too damn tight, plus they cost over a grand.

  • I moved house with a suitcase, a bike, a girlfriend and a crumpler.. but the new one was only a kay away..

  • ive been talking to a fella whos started making bikes/side cars and trailers, hes trying use them for advertising mostly, but i was telling him about my idea of starting a cargo service for london. he seem into it :)

actually i really need to go see/get in contact with him again, i think its too good an idea to waste.
    it works in other citys

  • I was thinking about a trailer for heavy shit for work..but then the width would kind of reduce the effectiveness of a bike in town..the last thing i want to do is sit in traffic, on a fuckin bike!
