I'm sorry but national food in the UK is pretty awful, that is why when all the immigrants came over in the 50's/60's, they brought their food customs with them, and that's also why there is now a Kebab shop/ Southern fried chicken shop on every high street. You won't find that in Europe, anywhere.
Isn't the national dish chicken tikka masala? Hmmm.
