are 3 hills close to dorking lots of trails both legal and 'cheeky' lots of mtb'ers go there as it's the best riding close to london. it's 30mins on the train from wimbledon br about 45-50 mins by car.
i go there most weekends and sometimes nightride there in the winter.
swinley isn't too bad for mtb but it's a lot flatter.
