I'm riding sans-guards. Fsck it, track bikes shouldn't have guards. It just means I'll have to draft yaz all the way there ;-)

Well it looks wet, but it's not raining.

According to the BBC the rain has not only weakened from the torrents that were predicted, but have also shifted further South. There will still be some rain, but much lighter until the late afternoon when it still looks like it will piss down (4pm onwards).

So yes, it will be wet, but so long as we make it to Southend before 4pm we should be able to avoid the worst.

I'll bring the spare waterproof jacket in case anyone needs it.

I am seriously under-equipped on the food front, I'm hoping that my being seriously over-equipped on the hydration front makes up for it, and I've gone and poured carb powder in all my water, so let's see how that works.

I'm gonna have to throw some water in my bag. More weight on my back! :S

Don't worry about the flapjacks, that's the kind of thing that most newsagents have :) So I'll pick a couple up on my way in.
