Are those vertical drops at the rear?

"or you could get a langster"
I think I would, actually.
-
• #5
i wouldn't. That frame would go on ebay for half that price, easy.

I'm not talking about selling it on, I'm talking about buying it to own/ride.

ooh, i like that khs, have always had a softspot for them - and it's orange, which as everyone knows, is the fastest colour

The KHS is much better than the Argos.. but red is faster..

I'd say nope on the Argus - not for that price. The frames got steez but basically its just a nice looking conversion ie road crank, converted road hubs etc. You could do the same for much less than 300 quid if you look around. See lots of lo-pro frames on ebay.
If you can talk him down and you like it, it might be worth it. Always good to test ride and haggle in person then deal with god knows what problems come with bikes from Ebay.

I'd get a shipping quote from them first as they're using UPS. Its going to be at least 150 USD and probably higher to ship because UPS will charge by weight + add oversize handling fees etc.

hippy but red is faster..

Make sure its not a suicide hub. If it is a road hub running a freewheel get him to through in the free wheel fitting tool (if you still want the bike). I think its ok for 300 if its got a proper track hub on the rear, reasonably good tires/chain and all the bearings are in good order. If any of these things are off I'd ask for 20 off the price for each fault.

To put it into perspective, I paid less than £300 for a proper T.I. Raleigh track bike, with Colnago fork swap, including original undrilled fork and bars.
This bike is OVERPRICED.. (and ugly :)) -

damnham (dt)
hippy but red is faster..
bah...
Merckx
:)
Sosenka beat Merckx's record and he wore red. I'm sure if his bike was red too he would've cracked the 50kph mark ;)

I got a complete track bike on ebay a year ago for £200, so i think this one's quite overpriced. I know that fixed is getting more and more popular, but you could get a nice road bike for £150 and convert it for £50 pretty easily.
BTW, I got an Eddy Merckx track bike with full campy record for £120 in January. I can't stop bragging about so I might have no friends left soon.
