This is a fixed gear forum. Grammah and speeling arentuh hi on my prioritees leest. :)
The door is sick of me punching it when my keys don't work and decided to take revenge. It just happened to coincide with the brakes that won't brake thing..
My life is just full of complex twists and turns ain't it? :P

Hello I'm new to the board. Been lurking for a while, but thought I'd say thanks for tip on the extra British Etape entry places. Added my name to list yesterday, and I'm very excited.

I went in the holbourn branch yesterday afternoon for a couple of inner tubes.
Will there be anything else sir?
Oh yes an entry to the etape please.
Just the one sir?
Nah I'll enter the missus too.
Waiting for a call today.
Fingers crossed.
Do you have to bomb the whole way? Im not going to or i may just die.

There are time cutoffs, so you need to average more than 20kph or something..
When are we supposed to be called about our entries? -

I have no idea when they will call. They didn't even all know the system had changed... they were originally going to be selling the tickets instore but decided that it would create a queue too long and went for the phone list instead. How this amounts to less work from them I do not know. I guess they now have committed themselves to collating the lists in their head office and phoning people from there... it could take a day or so for them to organise this if they're really on top of things, I don't actually believe they're that on top of things. So who knows. I will be very mightily pissed if I don't get a place though.
I'm not going to bomb it down there, but I'll probably ride with my club mates and do through and by for a significant chunk of the ride, and work in pairs on some of the hills. This should give me a pretty good average speed way above the cut-offs. Whether I retain enough energy for the end will be something else. I'll get there, the first half will be fresh and speedy, the next quarter will start showing signs of strain on any major hills, the last quarter will be me trying to fight any physical need to bonk... feeding and watering as much as possible.

Hmm.
Talking last night we were thinking of taking about averaging 15mph.
Cant see we wouldnt be able to do it in time.
Hopefully get a place but my record in these sort of bunfights is not good.
Still if i do get in the start is only round the corner.

I'll be going it alone.. well.. until I find a cruisy bunch to join. I'm not racing this.
You'll see me suffering at the back, calling everyone in front if there's any rotation :) -

I went into CS with the dodgy Aztec brake pads and swapped them for some Ultegra pads.
I wanted the shoes you can swap just the pads with but they were out, so these will do.
Just be careful with Aztec pads - they're very iffy! -

Google tells me you're looking for someone who works for CycleSurgery...?
That sale of final places back on the 22nd was meant to be the last but British Cycling have again released more tickets to us. At last count there are now around 150 spots still left to go (all money goes to British Cyclign btw). If you or anyone wants one, go here:
http://www.cyclesurgery.com/article/mcs/art/61If you want additional spots, please be aware that each individual must register seperately. If you get a message that your basket is empty, read the instructions below the message about adjusting your cookie settings (British Cycling programmers built this page and it's a bit fiddly).
This announcement is about to go out in a few channels but I'd say tickets will still be on for another few days. Just so you know though, they are cutting it all off on 11th June.
One other thing... these spots still have the option for return transport.

You are right out of the loop.
He went into business for himself as the sole-UK importer of a well renown manufacturer of carbon bladed wheels, ages ago. -
• #42
I thought that he had moved onto importing Bianchi Pista concepts, delaring the aerodynamic wheel market to be at saturation?
