  • anyone got any experience removing it?

  • on???

  • off???

  • steel>powdercoat>lacquer. i need to get a clear coat off...

  • probably sand paper, and then fine grade like wet and dry and a lot of elbow grease, i got to do a set a of carbon forks that are badly scratched.

  • nitromors, toothbrush, steel wool, scotch pad, fine grade wet n' dry, lots of elbow grease

  • Use a fine grade Wet/dry paper depending on thickness of coat. 600 grade for thicker, 800 or 1200 for thinner coat. Use it wet and when the clearcoat wears through to the paint the residue should become the colour of the paint. Stop here and go to a finer grade to get the thinner surrounding clearcoat parts off. It is very time consuming and if I remember correctly the powdercoat should be re-laquered. Both 31trum and RPM are not wrong with their elbow grease tip.

  • hammer and chisel the harder you hit it the quicker it comes off
