I love On-One but I never end up buying any of their bikes :S

It's a good cross style bike and good for women with the compact frame design but just not classic track style.

Classic track style is a p.i.t.a if you want to do any touring, etc. on it.
Sure you can endure riding a track bike all day.. but four serious touring andor off-road? No thanks.

Oh agree with you, my next fixed gear will hopefully be a track bike but my current convertion is purfect for my communting rexaled geometory mudgard clearance e.t.c ugly as sin but it works

I think there is a more trad style fixie in the pipeline - it's called the linconshire poacher, not sure why - there have been a few pictures of one on the on-one site.

I'm looking forward to it as well, as an owner of an Inbred I really like their bikes, but like others not a big fan of the Pomp.

i don't really see what all the fuss is about them either, fine if you are on a budget but like all cheap bikes people end up having to change things soon after buying (like the brakes). probably good for towpaths/touring but that back end looks ugly imho. if i wanted a cheap fixed bike for the road i would buy a lemond filmore.

What's special about the Lemond? Personally I think the Lemond look fugly although are not as common as On-ONe which is nice..

i think the fuji is one of the better budget fixes around.. much better than the langster or the bianchi

the finishing kit is all good stuff, i think it looks really nice but then i do prefer the traditional white panel look, i don't think they have as many problems with the wheels like the fuji and langster and it's steel which is why it would have been my choice if i hadn't got the condor

Another fixie I think looks pretty good is a genesis flyer.

What about the On-ONe? It's not a Langster and I've not heard anything bad about the wheels. Mostly brake complaints which I put down to most people not knowing how to setup cantilever brakes.

Isn't the Filmore more expensive than the Jackson?? Depends how much you can get parts for it I guess.

I've been looking at pricing up a Bob Jackson once you factor in the cost of everything it works out quite expensive. Where as if i get a filmore for £450, then I can upgrade it in stages, sell the Lemond frame and replace it with a B. Jackson. It should work out about the same cost, but I get to spread the cost over a few months and have something to ride over the summer, instead of waiting all summer for a frame and parts.

if your not going touring, running phat tyres, wanting full length mudgaurds or using a rack and panniers then personally i would rather have a 'tighter' road bike, they are no lightweight either which is fine if you want to use them off-road but for me i would wan't something racier for the road than a pompino, plenty of people like theirs though

I understand. I really miss my track bike geometry when I get on my road bike - feels like a boat! For versatility the Pomp takes the cake but for city stuff I like steeper angles, shorter wheelbase. To each their own, yeah? :)
