I may do the same depends on the other half. Def no race though, I don't know the lanes well enough and I am slow and I am a wuss.
-
• #63
i'm not going, i don't like wookies with short fuses and my rapha/condor pista combo would only get him agitated ;-)

the golden hinde se1 then to
rum close e1 where you had to do a shot of vodka then to
the cutty sark where you had to give them a flower then to
shooters hill se3 (ow) where you had to fish a message in a bottle from the pond then to
woolwich ferry (then on the ferry) then to

the checkpoints:
1: Oval Road in Camden, at the Pirate ship or something. Just a standard checkpoint
2: Gray's Inn road and Guilford road, clerkenwell. Some squat where you had to queue, then get in and get questioned about Pirate ethics by some dude (?)
3: A tattoo parlor on Hackney Road, in front of the George and Dragon pub. Either you got a tattoo (tiny anchor) or you had to do an additional checkpoints. (anchor for me!)
4: Rum lane or street in Wapping. Standard checkpoint
5: The Cutty Sark. Had to get a flower (from wherever you could find one) and get some moustache drawn on your face.
6: Some pond at the top of Greenwich park (bitch of a hill), where bottles were floating. In each bottle a map burned around the edges, with the next checkpoint...
7: Woolwich Ferry. OUTSIDE of the A-Z (hence the map). Kind of the final checkpoint, we got spoke cards with our number of arrival.
8: Wapping High Street. In a pub.I could not stay for prizes so don't know who won (Jos I think, or Mike Trampsparadise)
THANKS WOOKIE!! One of the most creative alleycats I've done. Can't believe I got my first tattoo...

OOPs double post MAx.. sorry.
Lost you - did you finish?
so now that metro have moved into the old b+w bit round the back how many people will be working there?
i remember when they moved from the dust building to the new (now old) building and there was talk of building a cafe in the carpark bit at the back and the place was full of staff.
photographers were spending 1-4k a month on E6 and iris prints, now we all have epson printers and digital backs.
it's progress i suppose. i remember when it was all fields round there. :sigh:
