  • Sure your name isn't mdMa? ;)

  • yeah, i don't have much to gripe about currently, we should start another thread for things we love

  • the fact the Canadians don't want me :-(

  • 1 jay walking yuppies , who yell at you to 'watch it' or' look where your going'

2 peds who walk with a red signal, but yell at you for rideing through a red light (never understood that one)

    3 police

  • buses that turn left from the right lane, blocking your path and forcing you to wait for the 3000 people crossing on the other side of oxford cirpus.

  • David

Looked into the visa, but the fact I have'nt got a degree was a stumbling block for me. I was hoping that the fact that I have 10+ years in IT would help but according to the visa consultant probably not.

  • at least im not the only one who got told i could go into canada 'it is another country you know' smug ass mounty border gaurd.

  • allyb: Do they have a Highly Skilled Migrant type visa in Canadia? With 10yrs in IT couldn't you wangle some kind of managment roll, senior blah blah to score points towards it. Salary-based visas? Do you earn loads? That kinda thing..

OT: I hate VISAs. Even more than that I hate filling out those stupid forms at the airport every time I leave England coz I'm a skip. I hate the fact that the line for the non-EU and non-UK passports takes 30-40min to move through. I hate traffic lights.

  • i hate bordergaurds every where, i hate the my pass port is too bent up to scan properly, and that i cant afford a new one.

Once they wouldnt let me back into the US cuz i didnt have an entry stamp for canada....

  • Hippy: yeah they have a skill worker visa and my job is on the list, it was a couple of years ago and I got one of those free assessment type things. Maybe I should give it another go. For what its worth the Aussies would let me in if I lent them £40k for a couple of years...

  • getting back from a wet recent sunday ride, throwing all wet , dirty clothes straight in the wash, walking back to the washing machine wondering what that banging is, then suddenly left my new phone in my fucking pocket...

  • sorry, had to laugh

  • like i said in the "happy" thread.....other people's misfortunes....8^)

it was a bastard though, totally fucked

  • allyb For what its worth the Aussies would let me in if I lent them £40k for a couple of years...

Really? We're notoriously xenophobic and do everything we can to make it hard for people to enter Oz. Refugees? Not here thanks. Canadian gf wants to live here - "have you 2 years worth of rental bills with both names on it?" Polish gf wants to visit for xmas - "here, fill in this 9 page document about everything you've ever done and ever will do.."

  • You have a Canadian girlfriend and a Polish girlfriend?

  • "here, fill in this 9 page document about everything you've ever done and ever will do.."

has anyone seen bill bailey part troll? when he does that think about australian imigration...its so good

  • Well the idea of free love is a pretty hippish idea after all..

  • velocity boy You have a Canadian girlfriend and a Polish girlfriend?

I refuse to answer on the grounds I may incriminate myself..

  • I hate Australia.

for having a selfish government, better weather, 90% of thier population living here, Neighbours, Home And Away, thier rubbish beer and wine AND THE FUCKING CRICKET*

    *2005 excepted.

  • Actually, there's more English living in Australia than Australians living in England.. even with our tight immigration policies.
Also, our wine is better than most of the planets, although I hate wine.

  • I've never understood why English people flock to Australia or vice-versa..

    What do you reckon?

  • theres more irish people in bosten then in ireland

  • People who say 'innit'.

  • Snobs

  • Well, speaking on a personal level, I'm here because I got sick of my job in Melbourne and wanted to travel rather than get a mortgage. Now, the travel could be a series of short and expensive trips abroad or I could just do what others have done and move somewhere in Europe and do much cheaper trips from there. Best place to move in Europe for me was here because my grandfather was English so I have a less restricted visa than most other places. I only speak English (well, Aussie) as well so moving to Germany, although cool, would be quite a bit more difficult.

English going to Oz? Well, the weather, the beaches, the cost (1:2.5 UKP:AUD) and perhaps this freakish obsession with sh1thouse television soap drama? :)
