since p.s. mercian came out they've been insane at the derby shop.. It was a 16 week build when I got mine. The ride of a hand built custom bike is second to none. I wouldn't have believed it til I got mine. It took me 4 weeks to choose a colour after I had been measured up.. then I ended up getting them to mix my own colour which they will do for you for £10. Totally worth it; ehm, in my opinion.
Bits: I favour italian but mercian put in a Dura Ace headset for me and that was that. -

Ooooooooo it'll nearly be ready! only a few more weeks.
I've been toying with the idea of getting a Mercian built for a while now; but I wasn't quite sure - £480 is a lot of cash, just for frame and forks - but it looked so fucking good when I went to the shop, and a friend convinced me when we were in there just to buy one. They measured me up on the jib and told me I was a 57cm (I'd usually ridden 54-55cm, but what the hell, these guys are pros). I have a long inside leg and a short body, so the bike will be kind of short and squat (seattube 57cm, toptube 55cm).
Then they told me it will take 20weeks! I suppose that's good, it means that they are popular, but it's hard to wait until September (end of the summer!!) for it - That's a lot of sleepless nights! :-)
I had a choice of 63 colours, and 2 styles of decals, one modern and one gothic, both of which come in a few variations (i.e. vertical etc.). It was hard to decide on the colour, but then I saw this, which came top in the fixed gear galleries 2006 best track bike.....
....and realised what I had been put on this earth to ride - A pearl white, hand-built track bike!! The above bike is almost identical to either the
So, now I have 20weeks to decide on the parts for it - any ideas? I fancy Dura-Ace, but then there is always Campag - or I could just mix and match what do u think???
