And is it worth going cordless? Could these things cut through a lock if I lost my key?
-
• #3
aha! i planted the dremel seed. i've got the cordless, and while i find that it's very convenient for higher up on walls, trickier spots, etc., the battery life is a bit crap. plus, if you're in the middle of dremelling something, and the juice runs out, the first four words will probably be: "stupid piece of shit".
very useful. go corded (and it's cheaper than cordless). oh, and attachments are dirt cheap on ebay.

if it doesn't need to be top of the range you can pick one up for sub £15, they may not last forever but plenty long enough to find out how many uses you can come up with for it.
don't shop for it
argos it

remove your brake arch.

• #6
Take the plaque off those dodgy teeth you've got.
-
• #7
With the amount I pay my dentist I would really hope that a dremel wouldn't be called for!
-
• #8
you could always transfer the bits of your brake lever onto your teeth? waste not, want not.

Hovis Brown you could always transfer the bits of your brake lever onto your teeth? waste not, want not.
Sounds like a trend in the making...

cheaper than gold and precious stones. i had a yellow brake lever and i transferred all of the leftover bits. ungh...i wish that was my excuse....

You could collect a load of amalgam fillings, and refashion them into a brake lever.
-
• #12
velocity boy After that... cutting things?
Take up dentistry - the dremel will pay for itself
-
• #13
with the new range of add ons i've seen for dremels they'll definitely pay for themselves:
-
• #14
wow. never seen that one before. just make sure you don't go up to the maximum 33,000 rpm.
-
• #15
You can use it for drilling small holes in printed circuit boards. And pummaling the hard skin on your feet.

Right, I need a dremel... Should I get a real Dremel™ or a generic? Does it make any difference? Dremel™ is about £10 more at Argos than a Draper jobby from my local DIY place... I'm gonna do the deal tomorrow... So hurry! I need answers NOW! Please... ;]

I rode past all the west beers pubs today! There have been 3, right? That was a bit spooky too, it bein' a Thursday and I was about 7 hours early... :]
Hovis Brown suggested I need one, he was very convincing... but there's so many different models and whatnot... which one should I get?
Use #1: Polishing up a black coated aluminium brake lever so that it's shiny alu.
After that... cutting things?
I can't justify £50+ just on polishing one brake lever.
