  • Freecycle is a phenomenon, the idea is simply if there's something you don't want and don't want the hassle of selling via eBay, recycle it by giving it to someone who does want it.

It's not a trade thing, you don't have to get something back to give something away... nor do you need to give something just to get something.

Anyhow, this thread is for that... getting rid of old bike gear by offering it up to others who want it... or asking for something that you might need.

    First up:

OFFERED: Fizik Arione Saddle in Black. Great condition, seldom used.

Anyone who needs a decent saddle, let me know and we'll arrange to meet up sometime.

  • sounds like a very interesting idea and I for one would be interested in the saddle...
    b

  • Then the saddle is yours... whisper me to arrange collection.

  • anything else on offer?

  • i like the concept of this. need to root around the parts box...

  • dexterflexter:anything else on offer?

I've given away all my spare parts... but as I have some new components on order I may well have other parts available over the next couple of months. I'll try the new stuff before I give away the old ;)

  • what about setting up a trade section so that you may not have to order new components?

  • Feel free to put such a thread in the classifieds section.

I didn't need anything, I was just making space. My flat isn't large enough to horde bike parts :) And I prefer them going to good homes where I know it'll be used :)

  • done. let's see what happens. just bought a wheelset that doesn't bloody match my geared bike: i feel like an idiot.

  • Doesn't fit in what way ?

  • Cassette possibly? Actually it's the only thing I can think of.

  • the wheel is 9/10sp campag and i've got an old 8sp on the colnago. still need to figure out if i can get some spacers (apparently they exist) to make 8sp fit...

  • left side salsa cross lever (but you can flip it for left handed fun) in black, if anyone wants it.

  • gav:left side salsa cross lever (but you can flip it for left handed fun) in black, if anyone wants it.

i'd love to take you up on that offer

  • no problem salmonchild, my email address is kingshill12@hot mail.com (remove the space), send me your address and i'll post the lever on monday.

  • Not exciting, but: Miche track sprocket carrier (see here) for use with Miche sprocket (not included, see here). Easily posted, could save someone a huge £6!

  • Docus: it's yours, no swap needed. If you can work out how to 'private message' me on here ('whisper'?), send me your postal address and I'll pop it in a jiffy in a jiffy.

  • Whispering is the PM thing on Vanilla.

Note though, it's not fully private as the forum admin (little me) can see whispers that other people have said. That's the default setting on all Vanilla installations.

But it's private enough that email harvesters, and their ilk won't pick up on anything.

  • I have a centre pull brake calliper, very old skool, with pads. I don't have the cable hanger or guide thingy that you need to put onto the stem though. I bought it last year second hand from ebay to put on my fix, but bought new skool one instead. Up for grabs if anyone wants it. Made by Shimano, called Tourney.

I have 4 mountain bike tubes as well. Used but good.

  • arup i would love the center pull my front brake is ultra bad.

  • i have a rusty Zues aluminum farme and fork, it should be saved form the rust deamon, its farme fork head set and seald bb, if any one wants it wisper me to arange a pick up

  • What size is? I am getting pissed off with my none straight tracking frame.

  • i dont know its at home right now... its smaller then my fuji so i would say its in the low- mid fiftys

  • Hmm too small for me never mind. Thanks.

  • Classin on freecycle today.... It went within seconds......

OFFER - Old Ice Cream Delivery Bike - Hanger Green, W5

This is a wierd one, but I hope will appeal to someone!

We have had someone leave an old delivery bike with an ice cream
freezer on the front in our lock-up garage - without our permission.
It has been there now for a good few months and we need to get rid of
it so as its on our property, we feel well within our rights to offer
    it to whoever wants it.

It is quite grubby looking and I have no idea whether the bike or
freezer works at all, but if nothing else, the bike could be good for
    spare parts.

    Photo available on request.

    Collection only Mon-Fri 8.30am - 5.30pm.
