I appreciate that but you're missing on most of what I've said. Also a freehub takes 30mins to service, same time as rebuilding a wheel with a new hub.

Could you really rebuild a wheel with a new hub in 30 mins? Tyre off to tyre back on? -
So how much for rebuilding a Shimano free hub? The loose ball variant. These things cost 20 or less in most cases and the result is much better with a fresh one. Same about rebuilding cheap wheels and so on. No wonder most bosses moan about workshops losing money.

It's a business, if the fix it's not economically viable as per waste 2 hours rebuilding a Shimano freehub or a cheap brake replacement it is. Less potential problems, customer gets warranty, boss gets money.
