  • Looks great - how did you make the barrel nut?

    Have seen August's solution but my 'temporary' cable tie bodge has been holding for 4 years now...
    granted, it's a 'helper' brake on a fixed rear wheel, but had no issues with forces from this setup.

  • Aha! Well, full disclosure: Went from cable tie < brake cable with poly sleeve < dyneema loop (which was actually very cool) then realised I was actually more invested in getting it to a point of elevated bodgety than I had thought, and stumped up for the barrel nut from Gavin @ August.

    The bolt runs through a mushroom shaped sleeve / washer insert type thing that sits over a chain link bushing but @MisterMikkel is right ... I should have run it the other way with a nyloc nut on the fixing side.
