A little sound advice please. My home office is a small narrow converted sun room. 1.8m wide X 4m long. Brick walls. My desk is at the end. I have a setup that works, and makes decent sound. But overall it's very congested and while there is detail there's just no life to the sound.
I have a strong feeling that any equipment I use will sound the same as this is a room issue.
I'll attach a pic of the current set-up. Monitor audio bronze speakers driven by a Denon stereo amp, fed by my Mac via HDMI. Plus an 8" paradigm sub mixed in at a very low level, x-over is 80hz
Previous setup was the same speakers driven by a smsl a300 and topping dx3 pro dac.
Both setups sound similar. I have also tried som small KRIX bookshelves I have. Same deal.
A detailed but congested, lifeless sound.
Any suggestions to add some energy or dare I say, dynamics to the mix? Ideally for low to mid volume levels.
I guess everything, you, speakers, are all fairly condensed spacially in that setup. Maybe something designed for near field mixing which you can just set up for where you are sat?
