I think all of that goes to making Musk even less relevant long term.
I still think that may be wishful thinking. If Trump dismisses Musk (which I don't think is as certain as some people believe), that would diminish Musk's direct global influence to some extent, but he'll still be in a position to cause a lot of aggro for Trump, which will spill over into the rest of the world. And he'll still be able to use Twitter to cause problems for politicians in any country where there's a significant MAGA/EDL-like movement. The banning and then unbanning of alt-right trolls on Twitter caused an exodus and return which made Twitter a hub linking those communities on Telegram and elsewhere, and those groups in any one country don't even have to be big for local Farage/Badenoch types to start making any issue he pushes into a talking point. It'd probably only be a thing in English speaking countries and Europe, but that's still a lot.
