I’d say any established artist would be absolutely fine with a nervous first timer- they always love talking through their process while doing the prep work. Depending on the style of work you like it might dictate whether they have a delicate touch or are more heavy handed.
Most important thing is to find an artist whose work you really like that fits your idea.
Insta is basically the front page for all tattooists so if you search by area on there I’m sure you’ll come across someone you like.
If you’re in East Sussex I guess Brighton isn’t too far to travel? If so you’ve got an endless supply of world class artists to choose from. Gilded Cage and 1770 are the two studios there I have experience of and know to be awesome.
