So hot they could hear me screaming "ooooow it burns" over the milk wand

I'm in.

Where's good for coffee around Ladbroke Grove? I'd like to be able to work for about an hour or so. Can jump on a bike so about a 10 minute cycle from that area will do.

Lift coffee is really nice but Kensington - so probably not helpful. It’s just my only rec that side of town
-
• #28656
Actually I remember having a good coffee at Kuro bakery
-
• #28657
Thanks. A 12 minute cycle from where I'll be so Lift could work!
Kuro looks good too but they don't appear to have any seating so maybe one for another time. -

Inverse snobbery around coffee is so common these days that I appreciate a little pretence.

Snap, but having said that I loved the fact Hayley had a jar of MellowBirds on display for the old lady that came into The Window (Norwich) for her “Milky coffee”
-
• #28660
What’s Haley doing now?
-
• #28661
I think she had a place in new buck or somewhere near, but that was a while ago. I’m not sure now.
I’m 99% sure Neil still works at UEA so she can’t be far… -

Whilst we're on recommendations, anyone know a good coffee place around central Oxford?
-
• #28663
Society in St Michael's street do a good pourover!
Edit, you also have Bike Zone literally a few doors up which is/was Owned by Flavio Zappi. More of a food-oriented setup nowadays but good coffee still.
Another edit! New ground if you venture up to Headington
-
• #28664
Lovely, thanks! I'm actually viewing a few houses in Headington so will swing by New Grounds.
-
• #28665
Great! New ground is probably the best of the best in Oxford (in my opinion)

She is back in Norwich now as we passed each other sometimes on the school run. She does occasional shifts at the Kofra on Bell Road as well.

Agreed! Met one of the founders last time I was in (Joel?) and he was very nice and chatty. Coffee is consistently tasty. Going to be my go to I think.
101 Coffee in Jericho was also nice actually.

• #28668
Are they in the same premises as edge barbers? Only ventured there once, should go more as I work in Jericho
-
• #28669
I work in Jericho
I'm only in a few days a week until the move, but there is a place right near the office called 'Common Grounds', have you been there?
-
• #28670
Yes - not for a while though! Small world, where do you work? I'm at OUP.
-
• #28671
Ah cool, yes just down the road in Wellington Square for the Uni. Although I only started last week, so all pretty new! If you see someone rolling around on a brown steamroller it'll probably be me!
-
• #28672
Cool! I'm on a black/raw carbon CX bike at the moment so you may encounter me down Walton St from time to time.
-
• #28673
Yeah that's it. I was very confused when I went upstairs to the toilet and found a barbershop.
I'll be moving to Woodstock Road at some point this year

They get a bit of a bad rap but the sage Barista Express is fairly bombproof.
How hot is the latte?
