Must put a fair bit of force through the freehub when you grab it though.
I initially didn't like the idea of putting that much force through a freehub, but realistically braking is probably not more torque than a hard start in a low gear (think wheelie). It might fail eventually but should be good for a few years I'd imagine
So, is he using one of these, with a disk rotor in it for the rear brake?

Brake doesnt work rolling backwards i guess, which is of little concern but will still be odd. Must put a fair bit of force through the freehub when you grab it though.
