  • Don’t worry I didn’t for a second it was suitable, but stranger things happen.

  • get a crux or two

  • Cheers man, would have snapped that up but it'll probably be too big unless it's 56

  • I'd be more than happy to look after your Standert for you however...

  • Hahaha! I don’t think that would come in on budget sorry.

  • I found an umlaufbahn the black galaxy one for 450£ last year.
Other under the radar frames to consider imo: trek t1 (one 55 sold on Ebay for under 300£) the elusive esaki of course, the curvy top tube black/white or red langster, all of which could build fast and agressive

  • Hello, don't you have a kitchen anymore?

  • Had a look at a few langsters, good candidates. Looked for Eastways but couldn't find any available atm. Also would be very happy with a Boardman TK pro or TK9.2 etc

  • No, sadly not. We're staying with my partner's mum whilst looking for somewhere to live

  • Partner's mum should get a Tig welder in the pantry then :)

  • Seriously though, why not start with a langster to get started and then upgrade as things happen? Way more hhsb to just make the best of what you have available

  • No definitely, would be perfectly happy with a langster. If there's a cheap full build available locally, I'll go for it.

  • Vitus SIX (rebadged eastway) are normally cheap, I think mine looks ok.

  • Yep yours looks great and I've already looked for one online but none for sale I could find

  • On another note, anyone got a 54t narrow wide chainring spare? Or good recommendation for a Chinese option

  • My friend seems to like these Pass Quest ones. They're not super cheap but they are quality (apparently).

  • Cheers, I'll have a look. I'd need 5 bolt 110 or a SRAM direct mount option. It's only for my Brompton so doesn't need to be bombproof

  • I could be tempted to part with this.

    Barely ridden.

Has the flat bars and front brake on it atm and I think a Dura Ace C24 front wheel.

  • Do it, Phil. A Langster is the Arkose of the fixie world

  • Good call in the boardman and lots on ebay too. Re the vitus, It's definitely the same details as an eastway.
Anyway those alloy fixies all ride the same ! Discuss

  • what about a dolan?

  • There's a 56cm Seta on eBay at the moment. Might be a bit over budget at £800 though.

  • The thinking man's choice. I'd be open to a pre cursa or FXE. I was hoping to get a decent build with omniums etc so I can upgrade the frame and have decent parts. Most of the Dolan's are with stock alpina parts which are still decent but would want upgrading too. I probably won't get anything until payday now anyway having just bought myself a handheld gaming console/pc so some time to consider options

  • those alloy fixies all creak the same

Capo was nicer to ride than short lived Pre Cursa. CAAD was stiffer and quicker than Capo with better clearances but Capo made the least noise so it wins.

I rebuilt the CAAD to spark some joy but it only lasted as far as the first bumpy shitty road surface.

@PhilDAS sell your Gameboy and buy a Vigorelli steel in black sparkle.
