This place is virtually the only interaction with strangers that I subscribe to. I’m on styleforum, fedora lounge and home barista as well, but there’s no place like this, it feels like an online home to me despite having only met one of you (hi Oliver Schick!) in the years since I joined.

I used YouTube a lot yesterday going from Google searching in the stock YouTube app and the level of ads is fucking off the chart. Not just that but 99% of the ads are so unbelievably false and misleading they should be banned.

Reddit, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc - all those ratshit platforms where most of the stuff you're used to from forums is deliberately missing or broken, and you're hassled to install a stupid app to get some small fraction more functionality... Why are people so easily herded by corporations into an ever-shitter existence!
