A family member nearly died after their Ti mtb seatpost snapped and gored them in the thigh on an afternoon solo trail ride. Another rider happened upon them losing consciousness in a pool of blood and rode off to get help. Air ambulance saved their life with not much time to spare. Makes me nervous about putting quasi unbranded Ti parts on something that might snap and stab me at speed or with my own body weight.

I generally distrust Ti parts that are the same dimensions as the original steel, except for lightly loaded components. Pedal axles aren’t lightly loaded.
