• Anyone here using the cheap Magene ant+ heart rate monitors with any success?

    @amey ?

  • I've been using a cheap COOSPO one off amazon for ages and it has always worked perfectly

  • I have just got one after my Garmin one died after many years. So far I have only paired it and it works.

    I was also looking at the decathlon as a cheaper to garmin option. It would come with more reliable customer service, but slightly more pricey to Magene.

  • I had one and found it wildly inaccurate while running. HR would be high for the first 10mins during warmup, and then low during the actual run. This was calibrated against a watch HR sensor, and then again against a different HR strap before binning it off.

    This was while running mind, so ymmv if cycling.

    Like samrensho, got a COOSPO alternative and it hasn't skipped a beat.

    (EDIT: just seen the more recent replies)
