Sure there are some homemade options. Personally I’ve never bothered. Not doubting that it helps recreate the real life mechanics of pedalling but a solid floor and an ironing board are fine for me.
I tell myself I’m Rocky in his mountain hut roughing it out while the Ivan Dragos of this world have got their headwind machines and rocker plates.
