Life goes on, and people move on. The Net has gone through a lot of stages of development, and communities often form and flourish in one stage and wither in the next. kuro5hin used to be a great community, and I still miss it, but the Internet didn't die when it did.
You're already part of at least one community that started here but became its own thing. There will be others to find.
