  • If you can take some measurements of the old one then it should be a very simple part to model. I can't quite work out its function, is it just a low friction layer between the wood and the tuning peg? I would worry that a lot of 3D print materials would creep under constant force from string tension. I would happily make one from POM on a lathe if you get the dimensions.

  • ah fair enough! what guitar is it?
if you can get exact dims then i can print some tomorrow and pop them in the post.
i only have PLA filament though, not sure if something else would work better?

and obviously the colour wouldn't match the others unless you replaced all 6?

  • Upgrade to my Zwift Ride.

Some rockers printed with PETG which use tennis balls to provide the flex.

Also printed a little ‘cup’ for the front peg to raise the height so it wouldn’t alter the geometry. I might make that a wider piece of wood as, even though it feels sturdy, I don’t want it tipping.

  • Custom rocker plates are about £500. This was about £18 of PETG and £10 of tennis balls.

  • What's the easiest way to amend a STL file that I've found on Thingiverse - know nothing about 3d printing or CAD modelling and just want to make a few minor adjustments to a thing I've got someone else to help me print..

  • i've not done it but most people use the step file to make remixes of things as the stl is an exported version of the actual 3d model file. (think jpg version of a photoshop .psd file).

there are ways to import the model into an editor from an stl but they're all a bit kludgy.

not all people who share their files will share the step files as people can steal and commercialise and tweak their products in unwanted ways much easier with them.

  • I’m in the market for this too. I have a eureka 75 Olympus grinder and I need a front plate for it.

The Mazzer super jolly had a 3D printed front plate with Chute, so my thinking is can the current file be manipulated in some way?

  • What sort of adjustments? If it's really basic (re-scaling for example), it could be done in the slicer software

  • Probably a bit more involved; it's a coffee thing (portafilter holder) that I need to move a bit of it forward to get it to fit the particular filter I have. Was hoping there's a way around this that's easier than learn Blender from scratch..

  • If you post a link with a bit more detail about the changes I might be able to manage it.

  • To fit
