Braverman describing how Italy has built a wall on it's land border with Turkey to keep out migrants, and insisting she has seen it with her own eyes, is a great way to start the New Year.

Well, Andy, I'm afraid the Ostrogothic Kingdom and the Byzantine Empire do share a land border, and since it's quite hard to keep that pesky Belisarius bloke out of the West, a wall is eminently called for.

No anachronism here at all.

Yes, if rightists like Braverman wishes to go through life being permanently angry and pissed off they at least owe the rest of us a duty of care to ensure that they are in full possession of basic facts. Otherwise, it's just plain mendacity.

Her desperation to try and stay in the news is so sad, the sooner she defects to reform the better. I'm almost sad she isn't my mp any more.

"Say it to my face... u won't."
Former Prime Minister Liz Truss has sent a legal "cease and desist" letter to Sir Keir Starmer demanding he stop saying she "crashed the economy". Responding on X, Truss said: "I know Keir Starmer won't repeat his allegations that I crashed the economy because he knows it's a lie."

News spreading today that Musk is being advised by Cummings. Makes a few things make sense that didn't previously. Also, Truss did a 1hr 25 interview on YouTube where she set out her revolutionary ideas of breaking down the machinery of state and starting from scratch, while forgetting to mention that she was also recently the PM. The comment section is quite odd.

At least it has a happy ending.

To be fair it seems the smartest thing Liz Truss has done is reinvent herself as part of the MAGA alt-right. Top grifting.

Bingo
What does cruising to an easy election win on a small target strategy, against an unprecedentedly terrible incumbent mind you, have to say about whether Starmer is an Establishment man?
Once in a generation chance to kick the shit out of the Overton window, and he's playing as if his opposition is credible.
