I think the point of this thread stands. They are trying to rotate bars up to achieve a position on the hoods that makes the bike fit, but it sacrifices the drop position making the lower part of the bars obsolete.
BDHU would decrease the reach while maintaining the stack - so again in this case it is simply incorrectly mounted bars and hoods
This is true - my first thought was it looks uncomfortable, and I know he is quite a tall person but there are tall people bikes (like yours!) which seem to fit yet don't require any contortionism.
