Hopefully it's just a little loose and the paint has cracked, give it the tiniest tighten to stop it getting worse then bolt something heavy to it to cover it up.

I wouldn’t be worried unless the cracks start going away from that joint. As others have said, give them a squeeze with a long bolt and nut. Rivnuts come loose, they’re cheap parts and can corrode or the bond can fail.

Not sure if this is the right place for this but didn't want to start a new thread.. can anyone recommend anywhere in/near London still doing carbon repairs? I've tried emailing carbon bike repair but haven't had any response from them, and I heard they're pretty expensive too..

Send it up to target composites in Warrington, at the least email them. They've been nothing but helpful and all work I've sent them has been at least as good as new, if not better.

@snottyotter @khalid how do you rate target composites? I've damaged my frame again, i've used carbon bike repair who were good, but are more expensive so was hoping for a good review for target

Always been super helpful, really knowledgeable and the finishing is better than the original.

Just in case anyone isn't on Facebook and wants to see some lovely work by target, matching that paint is impressive.

I've managed to put a nasty chip in the downtube of my TCR. No idea how it happened but there was no collision - just carelessness. Most of it looks like just the paint has chipped off but there does seem to be some damage to the carbon in the corner as you can see from the photo.
Can anyone with more knowledge than me tell if this looks like something to be worried about? If it is, what are people's recommendations for repair? If I can avoid postage then all the better - I did see mention upthread of HQ Fibre who were in the area - are they still about?

So I don’t think the rivnut is loose (yet) - just slightly alarmed by the cracking, but maybe that’s cosmetic
I do this regular with my cannondale but not with carbon
