That one's 38 but yes, I also like that model.

Oh is it? The lady said it was 36mm. Also tried this - didn’t do it for me.

Yeah, I know because it's the Cervo Volante collab (with the deer leather strap) and I've checked it out before because of the nice dial colour.

They have done the odd 36mm one but IIRC they are bronze.

Makes sense. In that case, I think 38mm is the perfect size for this watch. I used to have the blue face in 40mm which was touch too big in the long run.

Agree, the 38 is spot on.

• #80357
Mmmm I like that.

I have an older Oris Pointer Date I should really sell if anyone is interested. Must be 25 years old at least now.

Happy new year gang. Can’t match the jumper but the wall’s not far off.
Should not have picked this up, but I’ve been watching them for ages and it was a very good price for a brand new one (from a Japanese seller). Still assessing it, might move it on. It’s a bit of an odd one, for a vintage reissue it should ideally be 1-2mm smaller and not have a date or be automatic, but then those things make it a better daily. And it’s hardly big at 38mm.

I think your Seiko (and mine) are Universal Japanese Watches like a UJM bike. Auto, date, shiny and neither large nor small.

Sweet! What do you think about the finishing?
I shouldn’t have bought this… but yeah the price was too good 😬

Nice, always been tempted by these. Was it second hand or a sweet sales deal you can pass on? HNY all
-
• #80365
Second hand, head only. It’s far from mint, but doesn’t bother me really. Winding action is lovely!
-
• #80366
The finishing’s good. As good as you’ll get on a non-GS Seiko. Does it justice certainly. I like the flat box crystal a lot too, and I like that it has a proper stamped crown, not a laser engraved one.

I quite like that analogy.

Spot on.
Colour was listed as Yoda. 👌

The lugs are rather long… I think nato is the way to go on this one.

Green dial 36 OP for sale in the window of WoS on Regents Street. Am I high, or were these going for £10k plus on grey market a few years ago? Also a Deep Sea for sale.

Was it actually available to buy though? I think they're still 7 or 8k on the secondary market.
They have come down, because of the general cooling of the market but also because Rolex has kept the green version in production for longer than a lot of the others. The discontinued colours are probably rarer / more in demand.

• #80372
I didn't check but it didn't say for display only and had a price under it
-
• #80373
That is something they have changed I believe, they no longer have the "for exhibition only" signs, even though there's very little you'd be able to walk in and buy. Presumably they decided it looked bad, or maybe with demand falling they felt it was discouraging too many people from coming in.

• #80374
Ah right.
I thought it was too sane for the modern world.

I've been on the list for one for going on three years with previous purchase history, which is a bit ridiculous for what is an entry level model. I don't know what's going on with that. If they called me tomorrow I couldn't afford it, lol.
I tried some on at Gatwick last week. This one is nice (36mm)
