The wobble continues! Nice one, Ipswich.

He's doing god's work. Who would have thought they could be worse than under Ten Hag.

Was always going to happen. At least we’re showing up when we lose. 75.7% possession and almost triple the passes as well.

Winning the possession!

I was looking out for some familiar forum faces in the away end but there was no one there by the final whistle?

First game of 2024 - freezing cold 0-0 away at Stoke (I was very grateful to be disappointed by drawing at Stoke and not Bristol Rovers).
Last game of 2024 - 2-0 at home to Chelsea
What a couple of years!

Wayne Rooney sacked as manager of Wayne Rooney's Plymouth Argyle after a humbling defeat to Frank Lampard's Coventry City.

I hope this is the end of clubs employing him. He’s shown zero talent.
He might still make a manager long term but feels like he should go into an assistant / coaching role for quite a while before he tries again.

Absolutely. I went his last game at Oxford, they were a complete shambles. Trying to play out from the back with zero discernable patterns of play and embarrassingly open at the back. They had scored three away goals all season... Feels very much like a re-hash of his time at Birmingham.

It's a shame when great players, and he was, find out they can't shape a team like they shaped games.
I hope he gets into coaching.
In my head he'd be great as the type of coach who'd roll his eyes when the manager was talking about "transitions and patterns" and then in a training drill say "look, when the ball comes to you here, take this shape, do this, and put your foot through it here. watch this"
and then welly it in from an impossible angle. before saying "see? simple" -

Wazza not Frank.

I feel a bit sorry for him. Could have fucked off to Saudi and earned mega bucks whilst pretending to be a proper manager but instead took the Plymouth job that was going to be incredibly difficult whoever was in charge.
Thought getting Phelan was a wise move and might help but obviously not.

Interesting that Forest are also second in the Stingiest table as well as the real one.
Just goes to show the size of the achievement. And after watching Chelsea on Monday, Forest seem even more impressive. We looked like we could have played Forest for hours and got nothing from them, but Chelsea were flaccid.

That can't be right can it? Southampton's wage bill can be 6x Ipswich's, as implied by that data and current points totals.

It could be, they have a big squad of players some of whom were signed during their previous spell in the PL.
Some of ours are probably on avoiding-relegation bonuses and a sizeable chunk of them were signed in League One.

It will be based on last available data so 2023 season which is PL Southampton compared to League 1 Ipswich. £120m vs £20m
