Just a bit of glibness about the fact that making espresso at home is generally a market with almost infinite potential for discretionary upgrade buying at every level of spend, so a product like this which would feel woefully extraneous in a lot of contexts, really fits right in. (Much in a similar tone as the earlier post about secondary grinders - which I presume was not remotely in bad faith.)
It’s a hobby I also share, and as such was intended as tongue in cheek about the market segment, if not as solely self-deferentially, I’m regretful that it felt directed mean-spiritedly at either yourself/whoever gifted you the product in question.

You captured the mean spirited nature of buyer perfectly, whilst ignoring that this is a time of year when it’s not entirely unknown to receive gifts from people which may not meet your high criteria for a life that would make Calvin say “mate, live a little”.
