New parts really have made a difference, if I can improve the wind/road noise on the motorway then it'll make a much nice cruising companion.
New discs and pads > firmer pedal feel, car pulls straight with no judder.
New rear wheel bearings > finally got rid of the whine that builds over the 100 mile mark.
New timing chain tensioner > start up clatter and idle noise gone.
New axle gaitors > no leaking grease!
New exhaust downpipe > quieter and cleaner.
Pack of sound deadening material > not sure if actually quieter but doors and boot have a much nicer thunk to them.
Only rebuild hangover is I've lost the digital radio. Still can't find the energy to trace the aerial cable but I did pick up some upgraded factory sized speakers in the sales. Front's are great but the 4x10 cones really are terrible compared with 6x9's. Tempted to try one of those under seat subs but suspect I'll regret adding more junk.
