  • Thanks @jontea and @tertius. The search continues then. Pearl Izumi lobsters get good reviews, but £80 are stretching the budget if there’s minimal improvement over wearing wool liners under mid range outers.

  • I have some Sealskinz lobsters which are great. I have Raynaud's so my hands get really cold really easily. The lobsters keep them nice and toasty, especially if I remember to pop them on a radiator for a bit before I head out.

    The drawbacks are that they're not good in the wet. Once they get soaked through they're useless. They also really affect dexterity and put your hands in a weird position if you using drops and hoods. They're fine with flat bars/risers though.

    The other drawback is that they're not cheap! They've definitely been worth it for me though. There were days when I'd just get the train to work if it was freezing because I knew my hands would suffer but that's not the case anymore.
