  • I’ve utfsf, and would like the new-Christmas-kit hivemind’s thoughts on long distance, cold weather gloves.

Bought a pair of Galibier Ardennes winter gloves and am disappointed with their thermal protection. Using them without a liner and they are very much like a pair of Castellis I had a few years ago: good for short rides in London at its coldest, but not up for longer rides or under freezing. The Barrier Deep Winter ones are highly reviewed but out of stock for days/weeks. Are they really worth it? Else, what <£50 gloves will keep my digits from going numb after a few dozen km on a hard day in January?

  • I have the Deep Winter gloves and do not find them that warm. They are decent but not brilliant. I suspect if you suffer from cold hands I doubt if they would be good enough.
