Fitting a direct mount derailleur hanger

I want to fit a direct mount derailleur hanger to my bike... the derailleur is already setup and running just fine and dandy, this is purely 'bike jewellery'.

Frame and derailleur arr both direct mount compatible.

My question is ,will I need to re-cable it? Will it need readjusting? Or is it out with old, in with new and away we go?... (it can't be that simple, surely?!)

It’s likely to just be a straight swap, cable should be fine.

Maybe a slight tweak of the B screw.

Or possibly also a tweak of the barrel adjuster. And maybe have the alignment checked? Hangers have been known to be off out of the box. I suppose that's a whole other alignment tool for direct mount, or is there an adapter...?
