Yup, spent the 2 hours not seeing past 20 meters. Only knew where I was based on what pub I had just past, White Lion, The Hurdles, George & Falcon, Bat & Ball, Fox & Hounds.
Just back from a lap of the Isle of Wight, tropical 8 degrees. Shanklin is much nicer than Ventnor.
On 344 now, long way back to London it is.

What are you riding there? The single lever is a commitment to minimalism

@PhilDAS and @Daithetooth cheers, yes, was a great time to be there. I was so lucky to work and ride with some brilliant people, at a really exciting time for the business and the sport. Got to design the original Brevet kit off the back of riding stuff like F500 (or F1000). The first jersey and gilet was nearly dropped many times (for a few reasons), and its one of the only products I really fought for because I knew it was solid.
I bought myself a ticket to head out and ride with the US Continental Project in 2009, which had some pretty amazing videos and photography come out of it, and the UK Continental just kept up the momentum. They're kind of buried now, but if you look at Oldest on YouTube, there's a bunch of nice stuff on there - this one stands out
in my mind, having just arrived, and I gave a rundown a few months back.
I helped with a lot of the product archive info for the recent 20th anniversary book, been interesting revisiting the past, realising what a magic time it was. -

What are you riding there?
OG Langster, not sure what year, but been through a few of these frames. Really like them. The brake is a SRAM carbon road lever, S900. Again, love it, forget it's there (if you catch my drift).

Richmond Park was very quiet an hour ago. Really enjoyed the mist.

300 done of the 500. Aiming to reach 15,000km for the year which needs an additional 55km on top of the festive 500. Weather has been shocking in Cornwall but grateful for a shakedry and some recently acquired second hand Spatz from on here. Some cracking Boxing Day football down on the lizard

They are giving me the entirely new phenomenon of sweaty shins mind you!

Somehow even grimmer than it has been for the last few days today. Di2 faux pas yesterday, GPS dead today…safe to say the stars are not aligning this year but trooping on with a big wedge of kms to catch up on.

I saw somewhere on IG a lad in Scotland did it in 1 day by riding 100 laps around something... Which seemed mental to me.
Can't find my source, sorry, but it did happen...

Edinburgh, 100 laps of Arthur's seat

Absolutely mental.

Friend of mine did it in regents park last year in one hit.
I can see the merit in it. No traffic, just turning the pedals. Basically turbo trainer outdoors. Still it must be dull -

They do a Festive 500 down at the track, about ten riders with different charities I think , they start tomorrow … I usually pass by and give a bit of encouragement but … it’s always cold and looks grim

GWR Audax runs the Full Fat Festive 500, in two ‘pints’ (500 each) or the option to ride both as the Double Cream 1000km;
https://www.pedalution.co.uk/gwraudax/audax-calendar-events/
Long been fascinated by these, I know GWR Audax do cracking events and routes, would love to give at least a 500 a shot

(190/500). Happy to fall short this year, just ticking along and the riding has been ok to enjoyable in the fog, nothing extreme. May aim for 300km.

Warnings for icy roads this morning made me switch to the gravel bike. Finally the sun came out. Lovely day. 306 done. Two more rides probably.

Yeah right, I rode 60km too and from my mom's house Xmas day and the quiet roads were lovely.
A nice time of year to ride 500km in a day I guess.
Need a damn good podcast tho

Thanks @Chopsicle for the great idea all those years ago. It's got me out for at least 2-3x the distance I would've otherwise managed in this neverending fog. There's decent pace club rides every day as a result of the f500, it's great seeing so many invested.
2 imperial 100s on the 24+26th, a metric 100 27th and I'll finish the final 50 odd km tomorrow.
500+/7000km this year in 6 days. I really need more base training...

These looked harsh this year. The last few days have been COLD . The instagram posts have had me liking furiously, especially as Will doesn't shy away from the hills.

422 done, wasn’t able to ride yesterday due to family catering. Should be done tomorrow I think.
Currently had 4 visits for the fairy, gravel kings can get to fuck.
So here’s my Strava account too;
