Actually very similar specs to what I have been looking for. Particularly the rear dynamo routing back through the steerer is not so common.

It’s a shape/design that you see used by a lot of companies, so it must be from one of the big manufacturers in China/Taiwan.

Also this from Sour bikes: https://sour.bike/shop/accessories/forks/sour-business-fork/ rated for 15kg weight on the rack. Not internal routing of the rear dynamo cable but has a nice 3d printed guide for the cable under the crown.

I’d like to think Curve would have these but worth a check anyway. Seeing as they are supposedly the ultimate ‘adventure’ fork and almost all Curve build come dyno-d up as standard.

This also makes me think of the Rodeo Labs spork, which seems to match your description to a T. Might be an import job, though….

You do spot the Howgills, though dunno what gives them away! Route itself was lovely enough, nothing too spectacular for c. 13km out and 13km back, but very vibey. The road out from Kendal to c. Natland way was lovely in the sunrise, though I'd want to be there before the traffic as it rolling, narrow and twisty.

I grew up nr Penrith. So the Howgills were well frequented. I don't know the south Kendal stuff. But visiting my Brother in Sedbergh and hoping to squeeze in a ride.

I can recommend the track which goes through Low Borrowdale between the A685 and the A6, you can get there from Sedbergh if you head north on the lanes that run along the western foot of the Howgills.

Here's my bike Pinnacle arkose d3 with a few upgrades carbon post, fabric carbon saddle, ultegra crank and ultegra discs .hand built wheels from Arkane wheelworks the bike is a lot lighter now 8.9kg.

Rodeo Labs Spork (think it was v1.2) was what I was looking at ages ago, specifically for the hidden dynamo cabling.

Yes, I know that one, I've run a few loops round there but not headed over with the Mountain Bike as of yet. I'm eyeing up a loop from the M6 overpass of the Orton road that goes down to Low Borrowdale and then back along the South side of Wasdale Beck. Might attempt on the morning of the 29th if any locals are up for it?

Sounds like a good loop, I’ve never ventured that far north. Had eyed up a couple of bridleways north out of Low Borrowdale but suspect they are more MTB territory. Not local unfortunately but have some family the other side of Kendal so like to explore when I’m visiting.

The one up and over from Borrowdale to Bretherdale is awful heading north over the top but improves once down in the valley, (repaired by motorists) which is worth exploring, all abandoned small farms etc, it's beautiful but creepy.

Nice. Yeah I’d seen the bit in the second picture which heads northwards from the A6 end of Borrowdale and thought it looked pretty rough. I love how remote and quiet some of the valleys are round there.

What’s the 650b tyre of choice for gravel?

That's a pretty open question - depends on the type of gravel and how fast you want it to be.

I've run most options from WTB (Horizon slicks, Venture semislick, Sendero knobby), Cinturato M that's been going forever and a Hutchison Touraeg 47mm and they all do what they're supposed to do.

I've got some heavier duty options for rougher stuff but haven't run most of them yet. 27.5 x 2.1 XC tyres for example

A good all rounder are Teravail Washburn 650x47 they roll well on tarmac and have enough side knobs to get you into/out of trouble on the grav grav. Teravails always set up tubeless super easy and are pretty tough. TBH I’d be happy with any of their range, pick the biggest you can fit in the tread you like the look of.
